BidsCube is an AdTech company developing high-load platforms that process millions of advertising requests in real time. We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to help support and develop our production infrastructure.
Our infrastructure runs on Linux-based bare-metal and dedicated servers without public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real high-load systems and grow in DevOps, Infrastructure, and SRE.
What you will do
- Support and develop the infrastructure behind high-load AdTech services;
- Administer Linux servers running Ubuntu and Debian;
- Work with monitoring and alerting systems, including Prometheus and Grafana;
- Support CI/CD processes, deployments, updates, and infrastructure automation;
- Configure and maintain Nginx and Apache web servers;
- Monitor service availability and help maintain uptime and SLA requirements;
- Work with DNS, basic routing, firewall rules, and network configurations;
- Investigate production issues and help identify their root causes;
- Participate in incident response and gradually join the on-call rotation as your expertise grows;
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Linux administration, preferably Ubuntu or Debian;
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, ports, and firewalls;
- Basic experience with Git: clone, branch, merge, and pull requests;
- Experience with Ansible, including playbooks, roles, and inventory;
- Understanding of CI/CD principles;
- Familiarity with Docker and basic container management;
- Understanding of how Nginx or Apache web servers work;
- A systematic approach to troubleshooting and a willingness to investigate issues beyond whether something simply “works” or “doesn’t work”;
- Interest in developing your career in DevOps, Infrastructure, or SRE;
- Readiness to learn while working with real production infrastructure;
- Understanding of the responsibility involved in maintaining service uptime.
Nice to have
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Node.js;
- Basic understanding of PHP code for supporting legacy services;
- Experience with MySQL, ClickHouse, or MongoDB;
- Exposure to high-load systems, AdTech platforms, or traffic-intensive projects;
- Understanding of observability principles, including metrics, logs, and alerts.
